Data Use

What MogUp uses your data for.

This is the shorter, plain-language version of how MogUp uses the information you provide inside the app.

Last updated: April 15, 2026

Your face data

Your selected photo is used to generate facial landmarks and blendshape-style measurements on-device, then the photo, those derived measurements, your onboarding answers, and, for rescans, limited previous scan context are sent to MogUp’s backend and OpenAI to generate the scan result and, when applicable, a refreshed plan.

Where it is stored

MogUp keeps saved journeys and scan history locally on your device. MogUp’s backend treats scan requests as transient and does not intentionally keep a separate long-term remote history of uploaded scan photos after the response is returned. OpenAI processes the scan request as MogUp’s remote AI provider.

Your onboarding answers

Your answers help tailor the protocol, focus areas, and pacing of your personalized plan.

Your progress history

Saved scan results, streak activity, and completed tasks help MogUp show changes over time and maintain continuity across your current protocol.

Your subscription status

Subscription status is used to determine whether premium features such as full analysis results and protocol access should be unlocked.

How long it is retained

The raw photo and derived landmark and blendshape-style measurements are used during the active scan flow and are not kept by MogUp as separate long-term remote records after the response is returned. Saved scan results and answers may remain locally on the device for history, including the latest journey and up to 12 saved scans, until the app is deleted or its local data is cleared. OpenAI may retain API request data for up to 30 days under its standard API abuse-monitoring controls unless a different enterprise retention configuration applies.

How to stop future face processing

You can stop MogUp from processing new face data at any time by not starting a new scan and by removing camera or photo-library access for MogUp in the iOS Settings app.

How to remove saved data

You can remove saved scan history from inside the app using the Clear History control in Progress, or delete the app to remove the remaining locally stored MogUp data from the device. MogUp does not keep a separate long-term remote history of your raw face photo or saved scan history after request processing is complete.

GitHub Pages only serves these legal pages publicly. It does not store the in-app photo, scan, or progress data used by MogUp itself.
